Be suspended underneath a tarp?

Probably not. Tarps generally don't have a central point from which the Mosquito Pyramid Shelter could be hung; and the height of the shelter would require pitching the tarp a long way from the ground. Our recommendation would be the Escapist Inner Bug Tent.

Be treated with permethrin?

Yes. A spray-on or wash-in permethrin treatment will not harm the shelter's material.
