Technical Features
Revive Loft
Engineered to insulate even when wet, Revive Loft is a synthetic insulation made of 100% RCS-certified, post-consumer recycled, multi-Denier polyester. The fibres are hollow-core to trap more insulating air, and the three different Denier weights of fibre provide softness and durability. Used in our synthetic sleeping bags, you can tread hard on the trail, and Revive Loft lets you tread lightly on the planet.
RCS-certified
Fabrics or materials used in these products are certified as recycled according to the Recycled Claim Standard. RCS is an international, voluntary standard that uses the ISO definition for 'recycled'. It sets criteria for third-party certification of recycled input and ensures responsibility throughout the supply chain. Sea to Summit considers environmental impact in its choice of materials, and recycled materials are chosen only when they meet appropriate performance and durability levels.
FREE FLOW ZIP
Our Free Flow triple-zip design ensures your sleeping bag retains maximum warmth and efficiency when needed and multiple ventilation options when it's not. The half-zip on the right side of the bag (left side on women's bags) provides freedom of movement for both arms, additional ventilation and allows the top third of the bag to be folded down as a mini quilt when the mercury climbs higher than expected.
Frequently Asked questions
Is the Hamelin -9°C a good backpacking bag?
If your main focus is comfort and performance rather than light weight and super-small packed size, a Hamelin is a great backpacking bag. An Ascent down bag is lighter and packs smaller but, has a higher initial cost.
Is the Hamelin machine washable?
In a front-loader machine, yes. A top-loader machine with an agitator can be hard on lightweight gear and is not recommended.
Can the Hamelin be attached to a sleeping mat?
No. A sleeping 'bag' made to be attached to a mat will be much wider. If you attached a Hamelin to a mat it would flip as you rolled over.
